Course Description (for SIS)
This course examines the vibrant cultures of Cuba from Independence to the present. Students will become familiar with the diverse and syncretic forms of cultural production in Cuba, including art, architecture, music, dance, film, food, journalism, and literature. Special emphasis will be placed on continuities and ruptures in Cuban culture before and after the Revolution. Students will research and present on contemporary topics in Cuban culture.
