All materials within JIATS are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced or used in any way without permission. Linking to JIATS and its articles does not require permission.
The JIATS copyright policy aims to preserve the rights of individual authors over their own creative product, while also preserving the investment of the organizations that pay for the production of JIATS. In summary, authors retain copyright control over all their individual submissions to JIATS, and are free to republish them outside of JIATS. JIATS holds non-exclusive, permanent rights to publish all submissions. The International Association of Tibetan Studies (IATS) controls JIATS as a brand name, and has currently delegated the Tibetan and Himalayan Library (THL) to publish it. THL has non-exclusive, permanent rights to archive all issues of JIATS that it has published, and IATS has the right to archive it elsewhere in addition at any given point.
