TCD Outline: this was done by David Germano, and is incomplete and badly formatted. The first three chapters have been reformatted to use headers rather than just plain text with indents. The rest needs to be similarly reformatted, as well as some of the later chapters need to be finished. The levels likely go beyond the # of levels given in the standard THL World stylesheet, and if so, need to be imported from the special THL Word Outline Stylesheet.

File Locations and Contents
The most updated version of TCD is on JIRA: THLLIT-49.
"TCD Vol 1 LATEST VERSION 2010-02-20" contains chapters 1-14. Of these, chapters 1-12 have been proofread. We sent a separate file containing chapters 13-14 to the Tibet U proofreader. When that comes back, those two chapters will need to be put into our main file. NOTE that the version of TCD1 posted here contains the AD edition page numbers; the separate file of chapters 13-14 sent to the proofreader do not contain AD page numbers. So, when we get the proofreading for chapters 13-14, we should not just paste it in; we need to merge the two files, and keep the page numbers from our current file, while accepting changes from the proofreader (this should be easy).
"TCD Vol 2 LATEST VERSION 2010-02-20" has been sent to the Tibet U proofreader for more proofreading. Note that the version sent to the proofreader has an earlier date in the title of the file. However, no changes have been made to our version of TCD2 since it was sent to the proofreader. So, it will be fine to just use the proofreader's version when we get it back.
Status of the Project
Things that need to be done:
- TCD1 pp. 554 and 556 are missing from the scans. Thus they have not been proofread. We need to proof those two pages, and make sure the page numbers have been put in the correct places.
- TCD1 chapters 13-14, and TCD2 all chapters are currently out for proofreading.
- Text could be broken into paragraphs, verses could be broken into appropriate stanzas.
- Analyze and structure chapters 11, 24
- Find and mark-up any untitled starting/closing discussions (some of these are noted in the footnotes).
- There are numerous mantras that cannot be entered in the current unicode. Many of these are marked in the "unclear" style, though it is not clear if all of these have been marked. Some of these are just indicated with a string of shads, marked in the "unclear" style.
- Deal with all issues in the footnotes.
- When all issues are dealt with, replace all spaces with non-breaking spaces.
Things I have done are:
- Broken the original file up into two volumes, representing the two volumes of the AD edition.
- Broken the text up into front/body/back, and into chapters, and entered all of the subheads represented on the detailed sa-bcad provided by David G.
- A few chapters were just sketched out in David's sa-bcad, so I went ahead and did a more complete markup of these. One exception to this is Chapter 11, which David's sa-bcad didn’t break up, and which I have not broken up here in the electronic edition (the text itself is not structured around an obvious outline). Chapter 24 also does not have any divisions marked in it (this is a very short chapter).
- Page numbering is complete for both volumes. The volumes originally contained page numbers from the SG edition. However, our electronic edition is based on AD. Rather than erasing the SG page numbers, I changed them to the style "Page Number SG". I then added page numbers from the AD edition, and simply marked them with the style "Page Number,pgn". So, there are two sets of page numbers in the files.
- I marked up the quotations to distinguish them from the body text. To find the quotations, I first searched for likely text-titles, and then for the introductory phrases "de nyid las" and "de las." To find others, I then searched for the close-quote markers "ces" and "zhes." This appears to have found most of the quotations, however it should be understood that the quotations are not marked up based on a sensitive line-by-line reading of the text, so there may still be a few quotes that are unmarked.
- I marked up the chapter colophons, and the text colophons.
- I marked up the sa bcad with the "Sa bcad, sc" style.
- I did not put paragraph breaks in, with some exceptions. Where there were very lengthy passages that had no sa-bcad, I put in basic paragraph breaks. Chapter 11 (on embryology) does not have a sa-bcad, and so I put some paragraph breaks in here.
- In general, I did not put paragraph-breaks or verse-breaks in to the quotations. I did put paragraph breaks in some lengthy quotes from the 17 tantras. This was when I noticed that the quote leaves out passages from the actual text. I put a paragraph break where sections were left out. This is not done systematically; I just did it where I noticed some quotes were summaries rather than complete extracts.
- I marked the bracketed enumerations in the subheads (like 2.1.4.3.2) with the style "added by editor." This was at Than's request, in case they need to be removed later.
- Each volume has outstanding issues noted in the footnotes. Whenever a question came up that I couldn’t figure out in a reasonable amount of time, I just indicated my question in the footnotes and moved on.
