Working with PDFs

Contributor(s): David Germano

PDFs are the most common format used to circulate fixed versions of documents. There is a variety of way to make PDFs from Web pages or word processing documents.

PDF 995 is free software that works particularly well. The free versions are fully functional, not a trial and do not expire. It does display adds - you can purchase it for a modest price and skip the adds as well as get technical support. Go to www.pdf995.com to download an installer. Once installed, it will appear as "PDF995" as if it was a printer whenever you choose "print" from within software, such as a word processor or Web browser. Using it will, however, produce a PDF rather than a printed copy.
