Status Report on the Tibetan Geotourism Portal Project

We are currently working hard at getting a new version of the Portal launched this winter (2009-2010) for usability tests with the plan of having it available for public viewing by tourists prior to the beginning of the summer 2010 tourism season. We currently have a tremendous amount of data on Tibetan places - maps, images, videos, and descriptions - which is not being shown, but which will appear rapidly as the final pieces of our software infrastructure are put in place during the winter.

In addition, we are revising our professional resources and will be reposting those in new form this winter. These include our Eastern Tibet Tourism Review, curricular materials for training tour guides, and much more.
