The Sponsors of the Tibetan Medicine Encyclopedia
Portions of the THL Medicine Collections were developed with the cooperation of the University of Virginia's Center for Complementary and Alternative Therapies, one of the original NIH-funded Centers to stimulate research in complementary and alternative medicines, directed by Dr. Ann Taylor. Additional support has been provided by the UVA School of Nursing, the Raven Society, the UVA Weedon Foundation, the UVA Center for South Asian Studies, the UVA Center for Global Health, the TRACE Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education. In Tibet, the Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences, the Lhasa Mentsikhang, and the Lhasa Factory of Traditional Medicines have collaborated generously in the development of these resources. The growth of the Medicine Collections is intertwined with the development of many THL technologies and content initiatives.
