International Transfers

The Bank of China’s central office in Lhasa claims it will only take seven days for money to arrive when being transfered internationally. Money should be wired to the Bank of China, Lhasa branch, bank account No. 148340001. However, make sure to double-check with the bank before hand. Be advised that while it claims only 7 days, that sometimes it can take up to a month for money to arrive.

Western Union (www.westernunion.com) can also wire money via the Express Mail Service at Lhasa’s main post office (Dekyi Shar Lam; 9am-8pm Mon-Sat, 10am-6pm Sun).
