RSS Feeds refer to a system by which a user is automatically notified of changes made to a specified set of Web resources. Users thus subscribe to the RSS feed for a particular Web resource that is changed frequently and in which they have an interest. This allows users to have a single place they can look to and see if various Web sites they are interested in have changed, and if they have changed, quickly check out the new content. This contrasts to the need to remember to periodically check each Web site one by one to visually look over it and see if one can spot new content.
THDL's use of Wikis within Sakai worksite can be subscribed to as RSS feeds for those interested in easily spotting new content, though this requires you be a participant in that worksite. We also provide RSS Feeds for our Tibetan language instructional materials. In the future, we hope to more comprehensively provide such services.
