Instructions for Maintaining the THDL Tibetan E-Text Status Report

The status field for each text is filled out using the following vocabulary (separate each item with commas). Unless otherwise specified the work is in Unicode Tibetan:

• "planned" - this signifies that no work has been done but rather is only planned at present.
• "inputting; inputted
• proofing; proofed
• marking up; marked up: please note that "mark up" can be done at many levels, and thus completion of mark up depends on one's goals. INdicate the level of markup aimed for with a hyphen, and then "basic" (just the header for being converted to XML), "intermediate" (structural - table of contents, outline), and "advanced" (titles, verse vs. prose, etc.)
• scanning; scanned
• "needs assessment"
• if it is in a non-Unicode font or transliteration, then say so in the status (i.e. Sambhota font, Wylie transliteration, etc.), and then specify "needs converting", or if you have begun converting, then "converting")

In the note field, indicate "In Collab resources" if the file has been uploaded there already; and if we don't have possession, indicate that by saying "Not uploaded". Also use the note field to indicate whoever is doing the work, such as a personal name, or a short name of an institution.

Peking Kangyur catalog files– move this to Canons from Tibetan texts worksite.

CONFIRM THAT THIS HAS BEEN DONE:

• tshig don mdzod & theg mchog mdzod: We need to get the status of proofing work done by Tsering Gyurme and staff. TG told Zach in early October of 2007 that the proofing was finished and that TG simply needed to collect the work from the people at SPTI who had done it. Unfortunately, Zach was not able to get the work from TG before he left so now we need Sonam of Machik to look into this. TG told Zach they used 2 editions as reference when proofing the TCD and TDD and wrote all their corrections directly in the Word documents in a different color than the original so that it would be easy for us to see the changes they made. Whether this is exactly what happened is uncertain as we have not seen the files yet.

Blue Annals: get someone to clean up (originally tasked to Chris Bell to do after Spring 2007 course but he didn't have time)

Than: all of Dilgo CW. Confirm that these are all converted and XML files posted to server.

Than: zhabs dkar status converted into XML files?

Ying: 5th DL Sanyik?

David: Kepai Nimubm, Yangkyi input, zhechen, his various catalogs like mdzod bdun and ya bzhi.

Jonang texts: Ben and Khenpo get current copies of everything.

gsang bdag zhal lung, gsang bdag dgongs rgyan, phyogs bcu mun sel are Shechen texts, so put those to the side for now.

Take stock of stuff published in THDL: zhang zhung snyan rgyud, 5th DL spring queen, any sa bcad, all catalogs.

Collate all the scans:

• Ben Deitle scanned TDD and TCD, sherap gyeltsen edition (Where are these?)
• TBRC given stuff bka' ma
• mdzod bdun from TBRC
• TBRC NGB scans
• TBRC other stuff?
• TBRC blue annals
• Stuff we have – Kham monastery book, - In the process of inputting now in Kangding.
• Other things we have scanned?

Are the Dzongsar input texts proofed? like Gorampa collected works etc? Gorampa: lta ba'i shan 'byed + 13 folders named QG-1, etc. DAVID: how many texts?
